Picking Up Speed is a four-piece Bluegrass band that was started by Linda Sandersen in 1982. The members of the band have changed over the years, their current configuration has been around for 20 plus years. Rhythm guitar and lead singer, Linda Sandersen. On upright bass, harmonica, and vocals, Poul Sandersen. Their premier banjo player is Ron Wedekind. Their mandolinist and song stylist is Jerry Smith.
